About

We can't fix your heart. We can handle everything else.

Who writes this, and why

I'm Mia Reed, and I write Break Up With Me. It started from a simple, annoying truth: a breakup doesn't just hurt, it hands you a to-do list. Overnight you're figuring out meals for one, a lease with two names on it, the chores your ex used to quietly handle, and a version of yourself you haven't checked in on in a while. All of it lands at the exact moment you have the least energy to deal with it.

So I built the calm place that sorts it out: one spot that points you toward genuinely useful help — food that shows up at the door, a deep clean, a therapist, a lawyer if it's a divorce, a getaway when you just need to leave town — organized by where you actually are in the mess, from "I can't function" to "okay, maybe I'm ready for someone new." Alongside that, I write guides for the parts no one prepared you for, and I try to make each one the thing I wish I'd had at 2am.

What I believe

Honesty over everything. I make money through affiliate links, and I tell you that plainly — no burying it in the footer. I only point you toward things I'd actually send a friend, and your wellbeing always comes before any commission. If something's a bad fit for you, the right move is to skip it. Here's exactly how I make money.

Meet people where they are. Grief isn't linear and neither is this site. Some days you need soup and a good cry; some days you're ready to repaint the bedroom. There's no "right" way to get through it, and nothing here assumes you should be further along than you are.

Care before commerce. A breakup audience is a vulnerable one. That means I take safety seriously, I never pretend to be something I'm not, and I say the important part out loud: this is a support and resources site, not a medical, legal, or crisis service.

Please read Break Up With Me offers information and helpful resources — it is not therapy, medical care, legal advice, or a crisis service. If you're struggling to stay safe, please reach out to a professional right now. In the US, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), any time, free and confidential.

How I pick what to recommend

Every service I list is something I'd suggest to someone I care about: reputable, widely used, and actually helpful at a hard moment. I favor partners with fair terms and real track records, and I group everything by need so you're never wading through options that don't apply to you. When a link is an affiliate link — most are — it's labeled.

How the guides get written

The guides aren't hot takes. Each one is built to be the honest, practical advice a good friend would give — minus the "you'll find someone better" reflex — and the ones that lean on psychology are checked against real research, with sources cited at the bottom. Where something is general information rather than professional advice (money, legal, medical), I say so, and point you to a qualified professional.

A note on the name

Break Up With Me is written under a pen name for privacy. Editorial responsibility sits with the site's operator, reachable at editor@breakupwithme.ai. It's a small, independent project — not a faceless brand, and not a content farm — written by one person who thinks this stuff should be handled with care.
